Reporter vs Expert - Why Most Bloggers Are Stuck Reporting

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world - reporters and experts - and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it's hard for reporters to become experts, but it's easy for experts to report).
If you have ever taken an Internet marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies. Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are taught to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.

I'll be frank; you want to be the expert.
Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most cases people start off as reporters because they haven't established expertise. Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, higher conversion rates because of perceived value, it's easier to get publicity, people are more likely to seek you out rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc experts in most cases simply make more money and attract more attention.
Most Bloggers Are Reporters

The thing with expertise is that it requires something - experience. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning. Bloggers usually start out without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by interviewing and talking about other experts (reporting again).

There's nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many people it's a necessity at first until you build up some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are pretty skewed when it comes to reporters and experts - there are a lot more reporters than there are experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain attention and when they do, they often just enhance the reputation of the expert they are reporting on.

Don't Replicate Your Teacher

If you have ever spent some time browsing products in the learn Internet marketing niche you will notice a pattern. Many people first study Internet marketing from a guru (for lack of a better term). The guru teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to make money online you have to teach others how to make money online.

The end result of this process is a huge army of amateurs attempting to replicate what their teacher does in the same industry - the Internet marketing industry - not realizing that without expert status based on a proven record and all the perks that come with it, it's next to impossible to succeed.

Even people, who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an email list of 1,000 people, then go out and launch a product about how to grow an email list of 1,000 people. Now I have no problems with that, I think it's fine to teach beginners and leverage whatever achievements you have, the problem is that people gravitate to the same niche - Internet marketing - and rarely have any key points of differentiation.

How many products out there do you know of that all claim to teach the same things - email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the sub-niches that fall under the category of Internet marketing. It's a saturated market, yet when you see your teachers and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money (and let's face it - making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) - your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.

If the key is to become an expert and you haven't spent the last 5-10 years making money online, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.

Report on Your Process, Not Others

The secret to progress from reporter to expert is not to focus on other experts and instead report on your own journey. When you are learning how to do something and implementing things day by day, or studying other people's work, you need to take your process and what you do as a result of what you learn, and use it as content for your blog.

It's okay to talk about experts when you learn something from them, but always relate it to what you are doing. If you learn a technique from an expert it's fine to state you learned it from them (and affiliate link to their product too!) but you should then take that technique, apply it to what you are doing and then report back YOUR results, not there's. Frame things using your opinion - your stories - and don't regurgitate what the expert said. The key is differentiation and personality, not replication.

Expertise comes from doing things most people don't do and then talking about it. If you do this often enough you wake up one day as an expert, possibly without even realizing how it happened, simply because you were so good at reporting what you did.

You Are Already An Expert

Most people fail to become experts (or perceived as experts) because they don't leverage what they already know. Every person who lives a life learns things as they go, takes action every day and knows something about something. The reason why they never become an expert is because they choose not to (which is fine for some, not everyone wants to be an expert), but if your goal is to blog your way to expertise and leave the world of reporting behind you have to start teaching and doing so by leveraging real experience.

Experience can come from what you do today and what you have done previously; you just need to take enough steps to demonstrate what you already know and what you are presently learning along your journey. I know so many people in my life, who are experts simply by virtue of the life they have lived, yet they are so insecure about what they know, they never commit their knowledge to words for fear ofwell fear.

Blogs and the Web in general, are amazing resources when you leverage them as a communication tool to spread your expertise because of the sheer scope of people they can reach. If all you ever do is talk to people in person and share your experience using limited communication mediums, you haven't much hope of becoming an expert. Take what you know and show other people through blogging, and you might be surprised how people change their perception of you in time.

Reporting Is A Stepping Stone

If your previous experience and expertise is from an area you want to leave behind or you are starting from scratch, then reporting is the path you must walk, at least for the short term.

Reporting is a lot of fun. Interviewing experts, talking about what other people are doing and just being part of a community is not a bad way to blog. In many cases people make a career of reporting (journalism is about just that), but if you truly want success and exponential results, at some point you will have to stand up and proclaim yourself as someone unusually good at something and then proceed to demonstrate it over and over again.

Have patience and focus on what you do to learn and then translate that experience into lessons for others, and remember, it's okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that's all most experts really are.

My challenge: Can you Define your Online Marketing Success?

Success is a relative term for all men. What is success to some is not to another.
If you don’t define this parameter you may be following the wrong things online.
The internet is like a big ocean; so many things to follow and you got to choose what you want else you will be drifting far from success.

What do you think will be your online success point?
For some it’s making dollars (major point for many)
A beautiful website?
Lots of traffic daily?
Fulfillment in adding value to others
A great renowned blogger?
Launching your own product?
Creating your first video and pasting on Youtube?
Making a consistent sales of 5 figures monthly
Having your own forum?
Making your first $5000 online?
Ability to design your own web sites without outsourcing them?
Creating your first software? etc

Whatever it is, I advise you to define it now. And share it with whoever cares to listen.
If you do this singular factor well, it can stand you out in the crowded online world. It will become a brand name for you, which in itself create authority for you in that area.

Also I will also advise that you give your success point a time line for it to propel you to work hard. Tell people this is what I want to do in 3/6/9/12 months time, it creates what we call lifting power( power to do), as others will be reminding you and watching out for this success point and it can become your logo online e.g. if we call the name Ewen Chia, SAW comes to mind. (Secret Affiliate Weapon).
After you achieve this, create another in that same direction until you become a master in that field.

To succeed and grow fast in this crowded business, you need to;
Become a master at something! And know a bit of others.

Here is my next success point,
I want to rank #1 or #2 for 7 of my sites in Google and Yahoo search engines in 3 very profitable niches in the next 90 days.
Tall order? Hmm... Yet achievable.
I am on my way there; just a matter of time.

My challenge to you is do you have a defining success point? If yes be bold to share it here and see the wonders it will proper in you to become effective in your efforts.
If this is your first time here, go ahead and tell us what you will go out and do in the next 7days e.g. open a free website like blogger or wordpress, etc.

In life, until you define it, you can’t get it. It is the law of Essence,
Super affiliates use this all the time.
So what is yours?
Go ahead and Share it here.

Have fun in your efforts,

Here are 7 Reasons Why You Probably Suck at Making Money with Your Site

Reason 1: You don't take action.
If you're like most people, you spend all your time on stuff that's NOT IMPORTANT, and never focus on the things that will IMMEDIATELY MAKE YOU MONEY.
You're too busy procrastinating, coming up with excuses, or watching "American Idol" reruns while eating your frozen TV dinners.
It's sad, really.
One of the reasons few internet marketers are very rich and you're not
is because they don't put up with any crap. They take
action and get things done, before cruising
around in their Ferrari. But most affiliates don’t do enough before relaxing to enjoy their crumbs!

Reason 2: You don't understand marketing.
You can make millions of dollars online without ever "selling" anything. But you still need to understand certain principles of marketing. You need to understand the secrets for getting people to reach into their wallets, take out
their money, and hand it over to you.
If you don't learn this skill, you'll be cutting out coupons and shopping at
Wal-Mart for the rest of your life. For websites that have made millions of dollars online they've always used simple marketing approach. Their marketing systems works like crazy EVERY SINGLE TIME. And it's very easy to use. You must find a marketing system that works.

Reason 3: You don't have the resources.
There's an old saying that "It takes money to make money." Well not totally true, because when it comes to getting rich online, that saying is complete Gag. You don't need inventory, you don't need expensive overhead, and you don't need an office. Because all you're really doing is selling "air". Hope is what you are selling.
But even though you don't need money to make it, you do need certain "resources". You need to know WHERE TO GO and WHO TO USE for your various business needs.
For example, do you know where to go to instantly
get incoming links with high page ranks? Do you know which pay-per-click websites (besides Google and Yahoo) you can use to get qualified visitors for cheap?
Do you know which software to use to automate your business?

It takes awhile to figure this stuff out... unless you can find someone who has ALREADY figured it out. And that someone can be a coach/mentor who you need to pay to get Access to these resources, which will cause the desire change you desire,
Do you do this?

Reason 4: This is your first time.
Have you ever made more than a million dollars with one website? Or with all your sites and blog put together?
I didn't think so.
What they say is true: The first million is always the hardest to make. But when you make it first time, it’s become so easy to make millions. But it is doable as many serious internet marketers are doing this. Although just probably 2% of the them,

Reason 5: You buy into Crap!
Ever seen those "mega" how-to courses with all the shiny DVDs, workbooks, audio CDs, and all that other crap?
It's all junk!
Don't waste your time with it. Making money online isn't so hard that you need to listen to some boring marketer ramble on about it for 50 hours.
Wouldn't you rather be able to sit down, quickly get all the strategies and techniques you need, and then start making money IMMEDIATELY?
That's what I thought.
And that's why you need to select the content you read.
Don’t waste your time with anything that won't quickly increase your bottom line. Period. Invest in quality products. I agree they are hard to find, do your due diligence and you will find them in the marketplace. I will be recommending some for your delight.
See below for some cool products.

Reason 6: You don't know the shortcuts.
The nice thing about the Internet is there are
so many SHORTCUTS you can use to make money. For
instance, here are some of the tricks you'll
learn with these product links below:

# How to make money from your FREE website.

# How to make a killing even if you have no
website, and no clue how to make one.

# How to use Google Adwords to advertise your
free website.

# How to use Google Adsense to make even more
money from your free website.

# How to build your own list of email subscribers
and how to send them other offers that earn you
money automatically.

# How to be # 1 ranking website in Google
for years, for competitive terms such as “bad credit”

# How to create your own e-book in just 2 days
with ZERO costs, and how to sell it online.

# How to get affiliates to promote your e-book.
# How to use Cpa networks to promote your products

# How to create your own eBay Power-seller business.

# Examples of websites
that have made millions that you can copy and paste.

Once you learn this stuff, making money online is about as difficult as taking a test with the answer key in front of you. Of course, I'm sure you'll still find a way to screw it up. Please prove me wrong!

Reason 7: You don't listen to good advice.
Millions of dollars online yearly is possible. Do the right thing and get into the club. Until you spend some dollars you are likely not to take your online business very serious. All humans are the same. See what you do when your money is involved!

Don't believe me?
Well that is why I said you don’t listen to good advice. If you think someone else can do a better job of showing you how to make money on the Internet,
then I suggest you put down the crack pipe. And listen to me.

So quit being among the 90% that are just struggling to made a dime online and go get any of these products now. You will thank me later.

I can think of a dozen more reasons why you probably don’t make money with your site/blog, but frankly I'm tired.

I think I'll go get a massage... all that typing sure was hard work.

Here are the links, Go get them:
1. Recommendation 1. Click Here
2. Recommendation 2. Click Here
3. Recommendation 3. Click Here

See you soon.

What Do You Do As A New Affiliate?

If you’re just starting out in affiliate marketing I recommend you do a couple of things -

First focus on refining your niche and learning about your audience’s needs and wants
Once you know the most painful problems or the strongest desires of the people you connect with, focus your list building and content strategy on meeting that need

As you build your influence, find products that help deal with the same problems and motivations you’ve learned your audience has, and test some different promotions to see what sells

Focus your affiliate marketing efforts on fewer products and deeper promotions – by that I mean try and become a dominant affiliate for just one or two products by doing repeat promotions and testing different formats (reviews, email marketing, pod-cast interviews, etc) and then use that as a point of leverage to open doors to affiliates to promote your product, once you create one to sell

Always have your audience’s needs as a first priority, so put relationships before profits and don’t be afraid to say no (don’t be greedy for money, be greedy for helping people and you will make more money)

Cluster around those who are making progress in their affiliate business and have some of the as mentors. Have a participatory spirit as this will help you out on launching your product in the future.

Each success as an affiliate will help you take a step up the ladder to more success. Don’t forget as an affiliate marketer you need to work on your ground roots marketing too so you have a constant stream of new subscribers joining your lists. Successful affiliate marketing is not just performing well during launch time and attracting new partners for your own launch, it’s about building a business that delivers value to a target market who in return pay attention to you when you do affiliate promotions.

If you have any questions about affiliate marketing please feel free to leave comment replies and I’ll do my best to respond.

Who Wants to be The Next Super Affiliate 2 ?

Packaging and branding is the hallmark of the Top affiliates. When they release a product, it is so certain they will be sold out before long. Hence people beg them to promote their products. Their names sell.
Who else wants to be a super affiliate?
Here are 5 more mindset and systems you need to work yourself into this exclusive club:

1. You must have a network that works!
Super-stars marketers have a high power team that they leverage on most of the time. They are not lone rangers. They work in companies of their type. They link to each other and recommend one another’s product. They have a win-win mentality to business. They are willing to share their profit 50%, 75% and even 100% with a partner for a list or to build a brand. They have great joint venture structure in place and they never let down. Go and do this and become like them.

2. They receive, but after giving value
They are great value builders. You must have been impressed by the quality of content you received from a super affiliate? That is the stuff they deal with. It is a secret system they use and it works. You too must start using it if you want to be among the less than 5% top affiliates. They invest time, effort and money to create value for you before they start to sell to you. They are first generous before they make a demand from you to buy from them. Givers truly don’t lack.

3. They are creative thinkers
They are not crowd followers they create their own paths. They observe the crowd in the market place and then create a product for them to buy. They are god-fathers of the affiliate world. Anything they touch becomes ‘hot’. They combine offline tactics with online business. They are always looking for ways to improvise. They listen to the crowd and get ideas from them. They can spot a great idea from a distant and use it to the maximum. They are way up above the market. Learn these secrets and you are on your way to the top.

4. Super affiliates are marketing kingpins
All super affiliate I know are great in marketing. More than 75% of them admitted they had to learn this skill, so you too can learn this skill. It makes a whole lot of difference. Get all the help you can. Through training, attending online and offline conferences, reading specialized materials, pay to be coached by a top marketer. These things have their place in affiliate business.

5. They are willing to learn the hard things
What the lazy affiliate runs from, they are willing to subject themselves to learning it. They are willing to give it all it takes to demystify a thing to their advantage. They love to conquer and learn what they have to learn until they are masters in that subject. They sometimes fail but they always persist. What another overlook they pursue with great tenacity.

If you can put half of these systems in place and channel some of your energies to working these mindsets, you are a sure bet for the top.

Who Wants to be The Next Super Affiliate?

Super affiliates are the five-star generals of the online business. The rule the nonline world with dexterity and make things happens in cyber-globe! On the other hand there exists a massive crowd of ‘kindergarten affiliates’ struggling all through the internet trying to pick the crumbs from the tables of the super affiliates. This elite class is open ended but hard to get into. However to cross over to become a super affiliate one need not get another set of products or another set of affiliate tool, all you need to is to tweak your mindset and systems.

To be a super affiliate you need to develop the following systems and mindsets

#1. Have a plan and work your plan
Do you have a business model? If you got one, great. Get it to work. Work at it daily. Test it, rework it, take note of any success you find, record and repeat. Super affiliates do this all the time. They follow simple plans and systems. They give their plans time to work. No success is born in 24hrs it takes time.

#2. Get organized and have a business mentality
Yes, you must have your tools and product organized. Know your stuff. This business involves a lot of tools and a lot of links, accounts and accounting to do. You must see that all these are done regularly and in an orderly manner to track your business progress. Work it as a project, work on a schedule and make sure you are on top of the business. These things top affiliates do daily.

#3. Test , Test and Test
The ‘big guns’ of this business are test freaks. They test everything. They analyze and do split- testing, before they come to conclusion. They tweak all methods and checks for patterns, timing, seasons, and statistics are their best friends. They work with all kinds of tools; ratios, numbers, figures say a lot to them.

#4. Top affiliate are strategist
To them making money is serious business not a hobby. They can spend millions of dollars for a qualify lead. Why? They value and calculate the life value of a customer more than anything. They think strategically. While baby affiliate are going for the ‘now money’ they plan for the ‘forever money’ they constantly tweak their site, promotions, products, price, methods and other stats with long time benefit in view. This makes colossal impact on their returns.

#5. They are automated fanatics
True. In other not to burn out you need automation. Here the ‘gurus’ as they are often called are the masters. Their process is flawless. Their opt-in page is leading, their payment process, their systems are working. Product delivery are all automated, they make money without an effort after injecting the first effort. They do this from day one.

The bottom-line here is crossing to become a super affiliate you need to develop this strategic thinking. And you will see yourself rise to the upper class of super affiliate.

To your success,

Dan Ohis.

Your Affiliate Marketing is Dead without these Big 6!

The idea of making money and creating mega wealth is sweeping across the minds of all, and I admit that is a great quest and worthy of pursuit. But my greatest worry is the lazy approach most affiliate are going about this. No tools, lack of right knowledge, training, and mentorship.
I will try in this article to arm you with the necessary tools and training you need to succeed.
Here are the Big 6 essentials Tools I advocate for success

1. Have a positive energy
To succeed as an affiliate you need to exude a lot of positivism. Create the aura of ‘I can’ attitude. You need to see beyond your initial startup pains. See beyond the painful efforts you need to put in at first before you make any sales. Never entertain a negative thought. Keep your focus clear with high expectations.

2. Submit yourself to training
Every trade has its tricks and secrets. Affiliate marketing is no different. If you release yourself for those in the industry who has made great fortune from this business you stand a quick chance of making your own success story on time.

3. You must learn to invest.
Yes. Most new affiliate fails at this point. They quickly run out the door to try their hands on this lucrative business as describe to them by the gurus, without first investing in knowledge, training, effort, time, money etc. no one ever said it will be an easy ride. It is a business, it has its challenges. To see some real dollars in your account, what you invest in will go along way.

4. You must stay focus and disciplined
Have a plan and stick by it. You must be willing to achieved daily goals, e.g. article submission daily, posting in forums, and email marketing. You got to stay resolute to be a winner in this game.

5. Stay motivated.
Motivation is the key in this business. Motivated people go the extra mile. They push for more result, they never quit even when nothing is working. You need a lot of motivation to make it here as an affiliate.

6. You must be willing to take action daily
Most affiliates are always in the habit of reading, downloading and surfing the net for the latest information. You must take daily action on your site if you want to see sales. Plan a 2-5 daily things to do on your site, promotion and product.

Finally, doing these important steps will surely make you fool proof against failure in this business.

10 Steps To Make your first Sale With Zero Expenses In 7 Days!

Hi,
Here is a simple plan to make you some money immediately with zero expenses, but however there’s the dirty 4 letter word everyone hates: WORK!
Well, I feel this work is fun. Or you could pay someone to do the job for you. Too bad!
Remember - it’s always the principle of Time or Money!
Before I begin, there are 3 extremely crucial principles that if applied, can make you A LOT more money…

1. Sell products that CONVERT (or you’ll waste traffic)
2. Sell stuff that SOLVE DESPERATE PROBLEMS (for fast cash)
3. Take action - consistently

Lets have a look at the plan!

Step 1: Find a profitable topic
Simplest way is to look at http://www.amazon.com/ or www.google.com/trends

Step 2: Find out what problems people have in relation to this topic
A desperate problem is best. Easy way is to go look at related forums.

Step 3: Find a suitable affiliate product that solve the problem AND convert well.
Simplest way is to go http://www.clickbank.com/ and look for the highest gravity productsin your related category. Join and get your affiliate link.

Step 4: Find at least 3 specific longtail keyphrases for the problem or product
Just use Google’s free keyword tool https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.
For example, “how can I stop smoking”

Step 5: Write (or outsource) 3 articles
Each article should be focused on each keyphrase. 300-400 word article is enough. Remember the articleis NOT a sales letter, it’s a presell, a teaser

Step 6: Submit articles to article directories
Start with http://www.ezinearticles.com/ first.

Step 7: Create a free keyword-rich blog (www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com) and post articles there
Do this after your articles are published on ezinearticles.com.
Link each article back to your articles on ezinearticles.com
You can say something like: Article originally published on xxxxxx

Step 8: Create a squidoo len and post articles there
Do this after your blog is set up.
Try to link each article back to your articles on ezinearticles.com
You can say something like: Article originally published on xxxxxx
Step 9: Go submit articles to the rest of the article directories
Link each article back to your articles on ezinearticles.com
You can say something like: Article originally published on xxxxxx
To make this really easy and effective, I suggest getting an account at SubmityourArticlebecause the service is top-notch and it works great.

Step 10: Social bookmark everything
And of course you can always scale this up, then rinse and repeat.

I know this looks simple but there’s a lot of insightful stuff in this strategy
Maybe I’ll create a more in-depth product on this if time permits, we’ll see.
So what are you waiting for? Go make some money! let me hear about your testimonies.

See yah!

Dan Ohis.
